About Pathway Church
Pathway Church first assembled for worship as St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hughes Middle School on November 7, 1971. After 40 years of fruitful ministry as St. Matthew, God sowed the seed of a name change to better reflect who we are and our mission, purpose and values.We are still a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination, but we are not denominationally driven. Our church government is a structured staff laity partnership. Church members elect elders and deacons who work in concert with our ever growing staff of ministry specialists. A Staff Development Team and Finance Team, composed of lay leaders, work with staff and the church session to ensure best practices are used and spiritual integrity maintained with the resources God has provided, people and money.
Our facility resides on 15.3 acres but we are a church without walls. We measure sending capacity not seating capacity, from our own back yard to Ethiopia.
Rick Owen has been our senior pastor for 29 years. Our five member executive staff leadership team along with our ever growing team of staff members work hard to carry out our values and connect people to people and people to God. Children, youth, hurting adults, meaningful relationships, outreach, and families are Pathway priorities that are reflected in our staff structure.

Children and Youth Activities
- Our goal is for your kids to simply have a blast while learning about Jesus! We have several components to our Sunday mornings (Kinder – 5th) that allow for your child to learn about Jesus in different ways! Children experience an age appropriate, dynamic introduction to the Bible during Large Group time. Our Large Group leaders will use worship, songs, skits, Bible lessons and fun videos to engage the kids to want to learn more. Small Group Leaders will reinforce the biblical lessons and scripture and use this time to build relationships with each child pointing them toward Jesus.
