Children and Youth Activities

JUST FOR KIDS

KIDS' INTERACTIVE WEBSITE

JCPlayZone is an award-winning, kid-friendly and parent-endorsed interactive kids' website sponsored by Lutheran Hour Ministries. It offers games, recipes, crafts, coloring pages, and free e-cards. Activities are updated periodically so that kids will keep coming back. Games include a word search, matching game, crossword puzzle, among others. Besides providing a safe, Christian environment for kids to play online, some games, coloring pages, and e-cards help share Bible stories. JCPlayZone also has Christian music, daily devotions, and audio versions of Bible stories to help teach kids about Christian values. There are even crafts moms and dads can make with their kids!
If children are the future of the church, then FLC’s Youth are not only the future, they are
also the present in many ministries of the church. Youth and family ministry are vital ministries of the whole congregation.

FLC youth engage in a variety of ministries, from assisting in worship to acts of service, to fun meetings and outings. Youth help lead worship, first as acolytes beginning in the 7th grade, and then as assisting ministers in the High School years. Youth are encouraged to assist with specific ministry efforts as well as learning what it means to be a Christian in today’s culture.

The Confirmation program is for 7th and 8th grade students. It is held at 2 pm every 3rd Sunday of the month.

There are many monthly gatherings planned for students. Activities in 2009-2017 included Valentine's Dance and Spaghetti Supper, Trips to Coast, Fish Hatchery Tour, Dig for Topaz, Rocket Build and Launching, Inner Space Caverns, Glen Rose Dinosaur Park, Fort Croghan, Swim Parties and Fiber Splicing.
