About Abiding Faith Lutheran Church

Abiding Faith began in a living room in 1998, reaching out into our community with the good news of Jesus Christ. By His blessing, our church was built in 2006 and expanded in 2013 with our Children’s Ministry Addition.

Our congregation is around 200 members, which allows us to have multiple ministries for all ages, but small enough where members become part of our family.

Our Beliefs

There are over 70 churches in Smyrna with affiliations like Baptist, Church of Christ, and non-denominational. There is only one Lutheran church in Smyrna, however. How are we different?

We believe:

God’s Word is 100% true and without error. All of Scripture is God-breathed (2 Timothy 3:16). There are no “major” or “minor” doctrines or “essential” or “non-essential” teachings. All of His Word is truth (John 17:17).

We are honest and transparent about our condition. We are conceived in sin (Psalm 51:5), unable to save ourselves (Ephesians 2:8-9), and destined for eternal death (Romans 6:23).

Faith is God’s gift, not man’s action. Faith comes from hearing the message (Romans 10:17) and the Holy Spirit creates faith in our hearts (2 Thessalonians 2:13,14).

We do good works out of thanks to God! God creates us to do good works (Ephesians 2:10) and gives us strength (Galatians 2:20) to live lives of humble service to Him.

As Christians, we still sin and daily need forgiveness. We daily sin (Galatians 5:17) and are not perfect. That’s ok! By the grace of God, we are restored (Titus 2:14) to live a new life in Christ (2 Cor 5:15).

Because of Christ’s love, we serve our families, our community, and our world. Titus 3:8 and Galatians 6:10
