About Lee Road United Methodist Church
Lee Road United Methodist ChurchWelcome to Lee Road United Methodist Church. We are honored to have you worship with us today. Visitors are always welcome. You, your friends and family are cordially invited to attend all activities and programs of Lee Road Church.
Lee Road United Methodist Church was formed on the emerging east side of Greenville, SC on February 9, 1958. The Reverend D.W. Smith and nine interested people met together for the purpose of establishing a church. The energy and commitment of D.W. Smith and those nine persons quickly spread to others.
The group outgrew a tiny storefront building and decided to build its first structure. Now known as the D.W. Smith wing, the church continued to grow and build. A sanctuary was built in 1962 and a gymnasium, Howard Hall, was built in 1977.
In its mission as "The Servant Church" it continues to grow, and build, and be blessed by God.
