About St. Agatha's Church

St. Agatha's Parish was "carved" out of Precious Blood Parish's large territory and incorporated in 1953. The former Our Lady Queen of Martyrs (now Holy Trinity Parish) was also incorporated that same year. Both these Parishes were "daughter churches" of the then-flourishing Precious Blood Church.

St Agatha's is the only Catholic Church in Woonsocket that has never had a Catholic school associated with it. Perhaps for this reason, St. Agatha's has long had a very vibrant Religious Education program and an active youth ministry.

In normal times there are many events throughout the year in which parishioners participate such as vacation bible camp, yard sales, Christmas Bazaars, Autumnfest food sales, and a food pantry two times a month to name a few.

Also, we have many parishioners who help with various aspects of our Masses: They serve as greeters, Altar servers, Sacristans, Ushers, Decorators, Musicians and singers, church cleaners and more.

We, as a parish, seek to give enthusiastic witness to our Catholic faith in every relationship everywhere we go. We pray to Our Lord, through the continual intercession of St. Agatha, for opportunity to speak and serve as Christ would speak and serve hoping all will come to salvation and redemption in Him.
