About St. Ambrose Orthodox Church

St. Ambrose Orthodox Chapel is a vibrant and welcoming worship community dedicated to preserving the ancient traditions of the Orthodox Christian faith, located at Chapel Church on 3050 Cape Horn Rd, Red Lion, PA 17356. With a rich liturgical tradition and dedication to faith, we welcome all to join us in worship and community. For more information about our services, please contact us.

We gather regularly for the traditional liturgies of the Orthodox Christian Church. The Divine Liturgy of St Gregory (commonly called the traditional Mass) is celebrated with reverence and beauty, using the rich prayers and hymns that have been passed down through the centuries. The evening office of Vespers is also an important part of our worship life, offering a time for reflection, thanksgiving, and evening prayer. Whether you are new to the Orthodox faith or a lifelong believer, we invite you to come and participate in our liturgical life.

Our purpose is to "worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness" (Ps. 96), upholding the timeless beauty of the Orthodox Christian worship according to the liturgical traditions of the Latin fathers and saints. We provide a spiritual sanctuary where individuals can deepen their faith, find solace, and build a supportive community. We strive to encounter Christ, become spiritually transformed, and spread the teachings of Jesus Christ in the York, PA area. Join us in our journey of faith and fellowship.

Our mission, as part of the Antiochian Western Rite Vicariate, is to reclaim the Orthodox Church's western patrimony through celebration of the traditional Mass and prayer of the Divine Office. Let us draw close to the Holy Trinity in worship and love, "put on Christ" (Gal 3:27), and in Him to be "the light of the world", (Matt 5:14).
