About Himmels UCC

Himmel’s Lutheran and U.C.C. Church is rich in faith and heritage. Founded in 1773 by German settlers along the Schwaben creek, Himmel’s has been recognized as having the oldest church records outside of Philadelphia in Pennsylvania.
The most important event we do at Himmel’s is Worship together.
Our uniqueness is as a Union Parish (both ELCA Lutheran and United Church of Christ members).
We use a United Methodist hymnal as our basic hymnal for worship together because of the richness of the hymns.
Liturgy is created weekly coordinating hymns, prayers and lessons to tie together a common theme for each Sunday.
Holy Communion is celebrated the 1st Sunday of each month and on all Festive days, such as Holy Thursday, Christmas and Easter.
