About St Patrick Catholic Church

  • Mission Statement

As the oldest Catholic parish in North Carolina, under the patronage of Saint Patrick, we are a diverse and evolving community who seeks to know God through the Word, the Eucharist and the Sacraments. We gather a grateful people committed to a life of stewardship. Striving to fulfill our baptismal promises, we practice a life of prayer, minister to the poor, and remain open to God’s call to change.

The Saint Patrick Catholic faith community enters the 21st century celebrating in its fifth and newly dedicated Church. The community continues to stress the Catholic teachings first put forth by its patron Saint Patrick that all human beings are born with dignity and must be respected, no matter what their condition in life. Similarly, all people must be treated equally under the law, with a special preference to protect those who have been marginalized or ostracized. These faith teachings and principles have guided Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Fayetteville, NC in the 18th, 19th, 20th, and into the 21st. century. Reflective of the community it serves, Saint Patrick Catholic Church is a story of American immigrants from the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Central and South America. All have renewed the ecumenical, evangelical, and faith traditions that have come to be central to what has and still does make the Saint Patrick community unique among Catholics in North Carolina.

The children are taught and learn by means of story telling of the scriptures, drawing, singing, praying, and group activities. Catholic beliefs, values, prayers, and practices are a significant part of their faith formation. The classes are held on Sunday mornings from 11:20 am until 12:20 pm in the EducationCenter and Wednesday nights from 7-8 pm and a parent must be present on Wednesday night for the adult program.
Life Teen is a Catholic Youth Ministry movement led by the Holy Spirit that ministers to high school teens from a completely Catholic perspective. The mission of Life Teen is to create an environment that leads teens into a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and His Church. Reaching out to teens on spiritual, emotional, and social levels, Life Teen responds to their need to be loved and accepted in a day and age where many young people earnestly seek a sense of hope about their future and meaning and direction for their lives. Life Teen’s spirituality can best be understood through our Seven Core Values.
