About Grace Episcopal Church
-
Grace Episcopal Church in downtown Morganton, North Carolina was admitted to the Diocese of North Carolina in 1845 and is considered a "mother church" in the Foothills region of Western North Carolina. The stone church was built in 1895; it's newest "addition" is a stone labyrinth honoring the memories of many church families. Regular full moon labyrinth walks are scheduled. Grace has long been known by its outreach efforts; in fact, many of the most enduring city charities were founded by Grace members (Red Cross, United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and the first deaf Boy Scout troop in the United States.) Grace continues to be a parish that is community-oriented and focused on outreach ministries. Its members strive to live in to its mission statement: "We are a community of Christ the Servant."
