About Zion Covenant Church

Our Mission and Vision

“To Know Christ and Make Him Known”

As a church, we want to cooperate with what the Lord of the church is doing. He leads, we follow. Aligned with the purposes of God, we more fully become the people and the church God wants us to be. We can better discern how to cooperate with God. We can run with purpose.

“To know Christ and make Him known.” This brief but powerful statement captures much of what we believe is God’s purpose for the church. “To know Christ and make Him known” is a high calling and a holy privilege. We want to know our Savior better and make known our Lord and His kingdom and His power and His glory.

What we Believe

Zion Covenant Church is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church, a denomination which seeks to form and nurture communities that are deeply committed to Jesus Christ and passionately engaged in Christ’s mission in the world.

The following affirmations of the Evangelical Covenant Church seek to make clear the values and principles that have guided our denomination since its founding in 1885:

For Covenant people, our essential beliefs are summed up in what we call Covenant Affirmations:

* We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
* We affirm the necessity of the new birth.
* We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the Church.
* We affirm the Church as a fellowship of believers.
* We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
* We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.
