About Body of Christ Fellowship Church

Every church ordained by God has a history uniquely its own. On November 4, 1984, the Body of Christ Fellowship Church's history began. It was on this date that the Lord confirmed brother Willie J. Henderson's calling as a pastor. Beginning with about five members, Pastor Henderson went full-time into the ministry, resigning as a band director for Mississippi Valley State University. Although he was at the pinnacle of his career, he knew that it was better to "suffer affliction with the people of God" than to enjoy the riches of the world.
Along with the vision of how He wanted His church to grow, the Lord revealed, to the pastor, the name by which the church would be called. As the name implies, the church represents the body of Christ working together in unity, fellowship, and harmony. The church's foundation scripture is based on Acts 17:11, emphasizing a church that is serious about the Word of God.
By the grace of God, we continue to CELEBRATE Jesus, and we thank God for our shepherd. We thank God that Pastor Henderson chose to "build better disciples" over "building better bands".
Objectives
To be a Christian body empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach Jesus Christ and Him crucified to as many people as possible in our church, community and throughout the world. (Acts 1:8)
To be a worshiping fellowship, a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that should show the praises of Him who has called us our of darkness into His marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)
To press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philipians 3:14)
To come into the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God. unto a perfect body, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4:13)
