First Lutheran Church is a community gathered around word and sacrament, gathered to grow together in faith. We are a friendly church, with something for everyone, and we look forward to welcoming you!
About Us
Our Mission – “Love One Another as I Have Loved You” – John 13:34
Worship We believe that worship is essential to the Christian life. It is in worship that we encounter the Living Christ both in Word and Sacrament. Music, Drama, and the arts have an important place in our worship.
Fellowship We believe that Christians live more creatively and hopefully when we encourage and support one another.
Education We believe that the nature of the Christian life is growth. We encourage people of all ages to nurture their faith through educational opportunities and Bible studies.
Outreach We believe that the Christian life is to be lived for others. Just as Christ reached out to us in love, so we are to reach out to our neighbors and world in Christ’s name.
What We Believe
First Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and a member of the Northwest Minnesota Synod. This congregation affirms the confession of faith of the ELCA, which accepts the canonical scriptures as the inspired Word of God and as the source and norm of our proclamation, faith and life. We subscribe to the Nicene, Apostles’ and Athanasian Creeds as declarations of the Christian faith and to the Lutheran Confessions.
