Good Shepherd UMC is part of the Hampden/Woodberry/Remington/Mount Washington Multiple Charge Parish of United Methodist Church. Good Shepherd shares ministry with both United Methodist and ecumenical churches in the immediate area. Besides ecumenical services of worship during special seasons of the church year, there is an active neighborhood food pantry and community services office that provides emergency assistance to the local population. In addition, Good Shepherd UMC has an active, 5-Star United Methodist Womens' unit, and provides a weekly ecumenical fellowship, entitled "The Friendship Circle." Due to the elderly population of the church, which draws largely from the two elderly apartment buildings known as Roland View Towers, there is concern for the plight of the elderly in the immediate community.
