About Grace Episcopal Church

Grace Church is the oldest continuing operating Episcopal church in Northern Illinois, holding its first service in 1826, the same year Galena was incorporated. The cornerstone for the current stone church located at the corner of Hill and Prospect Streets was set in 1848.
Regular Eucharist services are held on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am following by coffee hour fellowship in the parish house and on Wednesday morning at 7:30 am with a fellowship breakfast afterward. Visitors are always welcome.
There is a meditation garden next to the church open to the public at all times. The chapel with an alter for healing prayer is open during daylight hours. The Parish House Gallery holds art exhibits during the year.
