About First Presbyterian Church

First Presbyterian Church, Villa Rica is a connectional church and part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We trace our roots back to the earliest reformers of the faith, Martin Luther, who was the first reformer (sharing his views publicly in 1517), followed by people like Andreas Karlstadt and Philip Melanchthon at Wittenberg.
We tend to think, rightly so, of the Reformers as people who recovered the main doctrines of the gospel and the five solas of the Reformation, but they did so by returning to the original sources. That is our continuous effort, to return to the original sources and meanings of God’s Word, the Bible.
In the context of such strong and traditional protestant roots, we also believe that worship should be a combination of hymns, psalms, and spiritual songs. God is the focus of our worship, and because of that you can trust that you and your family will hear The Truth of the Word of God, rather than man’s opinions or ideas from the latest fads of culture. Here, we seek one thing: God. Come find him with us!
