Churches… as described in the New Testament are made up of people. A church is not a building in which people meet, nor is it an organization that people join. The churches established in the first century (Acts14:23) were groups of people who had obeyed the gospel and became Christ’s disciples (Acts14:21)
Jesus instructs us in His Word how to worship God. He declared, “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth” (John 4:24). Over the centuries men have often abandoned the activities practiced by New Testament Christians for elaborate rituals. The Christians here seek to follow the simple and spiritual pattern of worship revealed in the New Testament.
Our Worship…What to Expect:
The Lord’s Supper. We partake to remember what our Lord and Savior did to remove our sins. It includes unleavened bread and fruit of the vine, observed each week in commemoration of Christ’s death and sacrifice for our sins and our relationship with Him. (Acts 2:24, 20:7, 1Corinthians 11:23-26)
Congregational Singing of songs of praise & exhortation to encourage and educate in spiritual truths. (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)
Bible Preaching. Presenting simple and understandable studies from God’s Word to teach and encourage. (Acts 2:42 & 20:7)
Prayers offered through Jesus Christ with humble hearts that request our needs, thank God for His grace, and praise Him for His greatness. (Acts 2:42; 1Thessalonians 5:17)
Monetary Contribution from members of the flock. Our guests are not expected to give a contribution. Only the members are expected to give each Lord’s Day to carry out the scriptural work of the church. (1Corinthians 16:1, 2; 2Corinthians 9:6, 7)
The Lord has directed Christians to assemble regularly (Hebrews 10:24,25). The Christians who make up this congregation limit our collective activities to those for which we can establish clear Biblical authority in an effort to be confident that what we do is pleasing to God (1Corinthians 4:6).
