Fairview Bible Chapel - Statement of Faith

    We Believe:

That the Bible is inspired of God, inerrant in the original documents, and the final authority in all matters on which it speaks.

That there is only one God who is eternally existent in three persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

In the complete deity and humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to rapture the church and then subsequently to return to reign on the earth.

That each member of the human race is fallen, sinful, and lost, and cannot save himself by any kind of works, and that redemption is wholly by the blood (death) of Christ and comes to man as a free gift.

That the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit in man is essential to effect salvation, and that man is justified (declared righteous) by faith only, in Christ alone.

In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life, and that the Holy Spirit seals the believer until the day of redemption, thus guaranteeing the believer's eternal security.

In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those that are saved, to eternal life; and those that are lost, to eternal judgment.

That the Church began with the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and is composed of all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church, as a whole, is not an organization, but a living organism, known as the Body of Christ. A specific local church (such as Fairview Bible Chapel) is composed of believers who gather in Christ's Name for worship, prayer, fellowship, edification, and testimony. Government and discipline are divinely outlined in the New Testament as being the responsibility of the specific local church.

In the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

In addition, we teach the following: water baptism following conversion to Jesus Christ; the observance of the Lord's Supper by His believers; church order patterned after that of the New Testament church (collective leadership of the local church by elders); the responsibility of the church and each of its members to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the unsaved; and the pre-tribulation rapture of believers.
