About Young Meadows Presbyterian Church
Our VisionYoung Meadows Presbyterian Church desires to be a vibrant, disciple making church that radiates the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Montgomery, Alabama and the world. We want others to come to know in Christ and grow with us in our communion with Him.
Young Meadows Presbyterian Church exists to Embrace, Enable and Equip Christians to Exalt God and Evangelize Montgomery and the world for Christ. This is what we refer to as "The Five E's".
We Embrace others through the love, mercy, service, and loving oversight of those who are under our care.
We Enable God’s people as we seek to help them find and use their time, talents and treasures for the calling God gives to each of them.
We Equip one another through training, teaching and modeling the Christian life before and with one another.
We Exalt God through worship in Spirit in truth on a personal level, in our families, small groups, mid – sized group settings, our whole church and when possible in cooperation with other churches that desire biblical and godly worship that adores Christ, confesses sin, thanks God for His amazing work and prays for His kingdom to come throughout the earth beginning in our own hearts.
We further strive to Evangelize Montgomery and the world as we proclaim Christ to a watching world through the attitudes of our hearts, our words and our deeds.
By God’s grace, His undeserved and empowering love and kindness to us, God reveals Himself to us through His Word and by the work of His Holy Spirit in our lives so that we repent of our sins and trust the Lord Jesus Christ alone to save us from the forces of evil all around us while more and more living lives that reflect the perfection and wonder of God’s design for every part of our lives. We believe that our main purpose in life is to glorify, honor, and delight in God and His goodness forever. We also believe that we are called to love him and love others as Christ Himself has loved us and has given Himself for us that we might live lives of holy fulfillment in this life and in the life to come.
As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, we believe the Bible to be the Word of God, all therin being verbally inspired by Almighty God and therefore without error. We are committed theologically to the Reformed Faith as set forth in the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechism.
What We Believe
Presbyterian Church in America
We believe the Bible is the written word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit and without error in the original manuscripts. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is infallible and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that all are sinners and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by His mercy.
We believe that salvation is by God alone as He sovereignly chooses those He will save. We believe His choice is based on His grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation.
We believe that God is gracious and faithful to His people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to His Covenant promises.
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind and to receive His people to Himself.
We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.

Children and Youth Activities
- Children's Sunday School
Young Meadows offers age-appropriate Sunday School classes for children beginning age 2 through 6th grade. Bible stories are the focus of Sunday school to teach children the heritage of their faith and how God uses each of us of all ages to serve Him and our friends in unique ways.
Sunday school -- 9:30-10:25 a.m.
Children's Church
Children's church offers age-appropriate lessons during the worship services for children age 2 through kindergarten. In a separate setting, they learn about God in their own worship environment. Children's church is held during the Bridge and 11:00 a.m. worship services.
Stepping Stones Memory Work
Stepping Stones Memory Work encourages children to learn the bible and memorize verses. Checked each month to keep children on track, this memory work is graduated as children age from preschool to 6th grade.
Nursery
Infant and toddler nurseries are provided with paid help and volunteers for all worship services and most church activities.
Vacation Bible School
Sports Camp is held the first full week of June at Young Meadows for children in kindergarten through 5th grade; youth serve as helpers; adults offer a variety of services from team leaders to teachers. Held for one week, 9:00 a.m. to Noon, children enjoy a variety of sports activities, snacks, and most importantly, bible stories about the heroes of our faith.
Wednesday Night Programs
Children's Wednesday night programs begin at 6:00 with stories from the bible and activities to help reinforce the stories' meanings. Programs are held for children K4-6th grade.
F.O.L.D. Youth Ministry
F.O.L.D. is an acronym that represents the mission and vision of the youth ministry at Young Meadows. Our desire is for teenagers to be a Fellowship Of Loving Disciples.
As a Fellowship, our hope is that our teens will become a part of a close knit core of believers who desire not only to be ministered to, but to minister and bear the burdens of those around them. We foster that through fun, engaging activities throughout the year. Typically, there is one large group fellowship activity every month, in addition to youth group and Sunday school fellowship time. We also schedule several retreats throughout the year including, beach, lake, and ski retreats.
Our hope is also that teenagers here would develop a heart of Love towards both God and others outside the church. The last thing we hope to produce is a group of teenagers with a consumer mentality that church is only about what they get. We want to provide them opportunities where they can serve their community around them, as well as share their faith with those unlike them. In addition to a large group fellowship activity, there is a monthly scheduled time for outreach and service.
Ultimately, our goal is that our youth would be lifelong disciples of Christ, not just nominal (in name only) believers. Thus, we strive to teach Biblical world and life view through weekly topical and Biblical studies. We believe that this is best done through three dynamics: 1. Large group study, which occurs through Sunday School and youth group, 2. Small group study, which occurs through regular discipleship groups lead by volunteer leaders, and 3. One on one, which occurs throughout the week as volunteers engage in life on life discipleship.
