About Norwalk Church of Christ
LOVING FAMILY ATMOSPHERE
You will find a family atmosphere at the Norwalk Church of Christ. Going beyond the physical family ties based on flesh and blood, there is a spiritual bond in Christ that holds us together. Every member, regardless of race, economic or social status, is regarded as a brother or a sister in the Lord (Mat. 12:47-50). Our love for one another is what distinguishes us as genuine disciples of Christ, the family of God.
"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you
have love for one another" – John13:35
The Norwalk Church of Christ is not defined by the physical building we meet in, but by a Christ-like membership, "God's building" (1 Cor. 3:9). The church is comprised of Christians – followers of Christ who strive everyday to be like Christ. We desire to be genuine disciples of Jesus who represent Him in our character and in our conduct, following in His footsteps (1 Peter 2:21). We are committed to answering the call Jesus gave to all those who would follow Him:
"And He said to them all, "If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me." - Luke 9:23
WORSHIP IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH
The goal of our worship is to pay homage or reverence to God. Therefore, we offer the kind of worship that will please Him - worship that is God-centered, not man-centered, worship that follows the New Testament Scriptures. Please come worship with us as we pray and sing unto the Lord, partake of the Lord's Supper every week, and give of our means toward the work of the Lord.
"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." – John 4:24
DRIVEN BY A SPIRITUAL MISSION
The Norwalk Church of Christ is not about the building we meet in, but about the spiritual mission that God has called us to fulfill. We are committed to seek and save the lost (Mat. 28:18-20), to build up every member into Christ (Eph. 4:15-16), and provide benevolence for the children of God (Acts 11:27-30). Our work does not involve recreation, entertainment, politics, or business. Instead, we are committed to the spiritual work that the Lord has authorized us to do (Col. 3:17).
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go thereforeand make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.’” – Matthew 28:18-20
Please visit us and compare the Norwalk Church of Christ with what you find in the New Testament. We believe you will agree that we are truly a church of CHRIST.
"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit." - Ephesians 2:19-22
