About Ethiopian Evangelical Church Atlanta

  • The Ethiopian Evangelical Church was started in 1982 as a fellowship of two people and today we are expanding in order to accommodate the growing number our congregation.

    We believe:

    The scriptures of both the Old and New Testaments are the verbally inspired word of GOD, and completely inherent in the original writings, and of supreme and final authority in faith and life. The triune GOD eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit:

    1. GOD the Father is Almighty and eternal, creator of all things, both visible and invisible.

    2. The Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of GOD, born of the Virgin Mary, fully GOD and Fully man, suffered and died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose bodily from the dead, appeared to men, ascended into heaven, who now sits on the right hand of the Father and intercedes for us, and who is coming again with great power and glory

    3. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, who inspired the prophets and apostles of old; who indwells, empowers and distributes spiritual gifts to be exercised by the believers for Spiritual edification of the church; and who convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment.

    4. The ordinance of water baptism should be observed by all who have repented and have truly in their hearts believed in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

    5. The Lord's Supper, consisting of the elements of bread and wine, symbolic of our sharing in His body and blood as a memorial of His suffering and death and a prophecy of His second coming.

    Our vision:

    1. To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ and win souls to faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, that they may have life and have it more abundantly;

    2. To increase Christian faithfulness;

    3. To establish and develop churches; and serve the community.
